Perfect location. Good size of the room. Comfortable bed. Our room was nice and cozy. Staff was nice but they were not very present.

I stayed there with my husband, however they gave us separate beds (with a table inbetween them) and they were not able to give us another room with twin bed. Breakfast is not included , it is nice but expensive. We stayed there for three nights and nobody cleaned our room or made our beds. They also do not provide soap or shampoo.

Marcos and Andrea were wonderful hosts who were very helpful. The location of the hotel was excellent. We enjoyed the breakfast the hotel offers.

    Fabulous

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the location was excellent.

The room was quite basic, and even though it was mentioned when we booked the room it was inconvenient having the bathroom in the hall because it was not private (no key, anyone could use it).

Very friendly staff and owners. Great location 1 block from the main square Amsterdam is 15 min away. We biked to the beach too about 30 min.

    Fabulous

I like their service and hospitality. Though steep staires, it's never a problem for me, because the staff help carry my luggage all the way up and down the staires. I like the dinning room with big windows overlooking the old town streets. While having breakfast, the owner is nice to prepare coffee and juice for his guests and afterwards had a casual chat with them. That kind of hospitality you won't experience from big hotel chains.

A comfortable B&B for exploring the town of Haarlem. We arrived before check in time and were invited into the bright and cheerful breakfast room for tea and coffee. Our room was even ready early. We had a large double on the same floor as the breakfast room that was indeed extra large with lots of windows and a table and chairs. Everything was very clean in the room, plenty of hot water in the shower, and the beds were comfortable. The owners were cheerful and kind about answering questions, and the breakfast was excellent and plentiful. They even very kindly accommodated my request for some gluten free bread.

It is likely that with the window open the noise from the streets would be noticeable, but this was not a problem for us.

The location a block or so from the Grote square and St. Bavo's church was excellent. The breakfasts, staff and rooms were outstanding.

The stairs as in most old Dutch Hotels are not for the faint hearted or large pieces of luggage, But arrival at the top was well worth it.

Great staff, very friendly and helpful, there when you need them and notwhen you don't.

Haarlem is an amazingly beautiful and clean town. Much better than staying in Amsterdam. Well worth the five minute train ride.

    Fabulous

city center location, friendly personal, free cofee, tea and snaks in any time.

room needs to repair, furniture was old, windows were wood and old too. Its look like hostel, not hotel. Doesn't has elevator, the stairs are steep. There is no free parking nearby.

    Superb

Hotel Malts was centrally located and lots of facilities nearby. Room was light and airy with balcony. Parking was within 500mts. Staff were informative for city walks and cafes. Ability to make coffee anytime was great.Short walk to wonderful laneways.

Better lighting on the stairs as they were quite steep.

The staff was extremely nice and accomadating. We arrived a little late but they made us comfortable, prepared coffee for us and inquired about or trip. They made reservations for us at the local Spa and loaned is towels so we would not have to rent them. They gave detailed directions on how to get to the spa as well as suggestions on sites to see. They also allowed us to leave our luggage after check-out while we saw the sights.

    Everything was great.

    Superb

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great- lovely freshh bread and freshly-squeezed orange juice. The location was excellent- only a short walk from the railway station and a two minute walk from the beautiful main square with numerous restaurants.Haarlem itself was well worth discovering using a suggested walk on a free map. Easy access by train into the centre of Amsterdam and a bus ride away from Keukenhof.

    Superb

The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The cleanliness of the room. The great breakfast! The low cost of a room. I reccomend Bed and Breakfast Hotel Malts to anyone who does not want to pay for needless amenities. If all yoou want is a clean, quiet place to sleep with good service and a location in downtown haarlem near the train station, this is it! Did I mention the great breakfast and helful staff?

We hade been told we could pay with credit card but when the time came to settle the bill, we were told we must pay cash.

We liked everything about our stay, but perhaps the thing we liked best was the exceptionally warm and friendly welcome from the owners.

The couple who own and run this Hotel were very helpful and interested in us as guests. Our room was clean and neat and had a wonderful deck outside the window door.
